We must have this card on file as well as a copy of their current and valid driver’s license and the address on both documents must match. o If a resident of Illinois needs to update their address on their FOID card they can either go to www.isp.state.il.us and click on the “FIREARM SERVICES” button under Agency Features, then under FOID card they can click Enter. They will have to register and can then select “NAME/ADDRESS CHANGE”. They may also request this change by calling 217-782-7980. No matter how they update their FOID card the State of Illinois will charge them a $5 fee to do so. For ammo shipments: From here on out we need to have two forms of documentation to ship ammo to a resident of Illinois. The address on both forms of identification must match – we can only ship ammunition to the address on the FOID card. You can generally only transfer ammunition to someone who is a registered firearm owner, and they have to prove by their firearm registration that they are purchasing ammo of the correct gauge/caliber for a firearm they own. Oh, and the sale can only take place in person. Below is part of the DC law… (d) Except as provided in subsections (b) and (e) of this section, no licensed dealer shall sell or otherwise transfer ammunition unless: (1) The sale or transfer is made in person; and (2) The purchaser exhibits, at the time of sale or other transfer, a valid registration certificate, or in the case of a nonresident, proof that the weapon is lawfully possessed in the jurisdiction where such person resides; (3) The ammunition to be sold or transferred is of the same caliber or gauge as the firearm described in the registration certificate, or other proof in the case of nonresident; and (4) The purchaser signs a receipt for the ammunition which (in addition to the other records required under this unit) shall be maintained by the licensed dealer for a period of 1 year from the date of sale. HUNTSTUFF/KENT Requirements If you are shipping to an FFL (gunshop or other license holder) we need a copy of or access to (website link to posted FFL for that business) their FFL. If a FOID Card, or other special item (drivers lic) etc. is part of the requirement please copy/scan and forward to us via email. We will forward that to KENT if shipping direct from them along with our purchase order on your behalf. Example: SPECIAL CALIFORNIA “new” restrictions and new Safety for All Act require “ammo” shipment to go to an FFL or the registered number associated. January 1 went into effect. So…. do your homework and please submit your ship to address with that number and a phone for that business who will be accepting your ammo on your order or have it available when you call your order in.
